Love that Saves ... (Easter Celebration)
 |
This month, the Christians around the world celebrated, regardless of their denomination, The Easter, thus remembering, once again, the message of love and hope transmitted by the Resurrection of Our Lord’s only Son, who from His eternal love for humankind, chose to redeem every and each of us.
We take this opportunity to (re-)send you our sincere wish that the message and the Light of the Easter to guide you in your lives.
Because of the kindness of some very special sponsors, we were given the pleasant chance of dedicating much of our time for the preparation of
|
the Easter presents for the ones who needed them the most: children in difficulty in our area. It has been one of those many occasions when we gladly worked overtime.
But our happiness of being able to give, to make presents is insignificant compared to the deep joy and gratitude of the children receiving these unexpected gifts.
We regret that our sponsors could not join us to see for themselves the happiness their gifts brought into the souls of these children. We hope the photos below will successfully express the joy of the children:
The gifts had as addressee both the children in the “Foster Families” Program and the ones assisted within the “Sponsor a Child” Program. We obtained a number of 144 present bags, which brought smiles and amazement on as many children faces. Each bag had a value of 1.475.000 ROL (the minimum wage in Romania is 3.100.000 ROL!). Each bag contained both food and clothes (The bags have been individualized so that the clothes inside fit each child who was to receive them).
We want to thank to all those wonderful persons and companies which chose us to be the intermediary of their love for the children in difficulty...

“Monitorizing the Happiness” ... (Monthly visits to Foster Families)
This month we paid a special attention to ensuring that the foster parent-child relationship is a good and healthy one.
“JOSEPH” Foundation has its own foster family’s network (the large majority of them attended the classes for professional foster parents organized by us). This network covers the whole Iasi County (22 villages).
Of our services beneffit children in the entire Iasi County:
Place your mouse on any red button to find out how many Joseph's children are in that village!!!
The Dawn of Hope ... (“Sponsor a Child” Program goes on)
We are glad to announce you that “Sponsor a Child” Program is a success. Till now there have been assisted within this program: 12 children, in … families. All these social cases are the most desperate and all of them needed urgent intervention. Because of the prompt answer of our sponsors we could help them. In their names, we thank you!
At the beginning of this month there was organized the first gong out with a group of children in this Program. This was part of the general activities of psycho-social counseling, for the purpose of a successfully social integration of these children and of their families. For some of these children this represented their first opportunity of going out and eat in the town and of seeing and playing in a kids land.
The way these children interacted and adapted to the new situation their encountered confirms us the fact that the chances they were given through this program are more then useful to them, are vital to the process of formation as individuals. Their power of enjoying and innocence protected them from the wickedness and sufferance they had to face up to now.
We also managed in obtaining some supplementary funds for buying clothes for children within the “Sponsor a Child” Program (these funds are supplementary and collateral to the ones for the Easter bags!!!). We also bought some clothes for the children who, in December 2005 – when the House closed its gates and the children under its roof had to leave “JOSEPH” House, but not for living in a foster family, but for living in other houses for abandoned children. We thought of helping tem too because we know they live in poor conditions and have severe lacks, their situation being more difficult then the situation of the children living with their families, even if they are extremely poor.
In order to find out more details about the way you could help children in need in Iasi, we invite you to visit our Web Site, especially the links “Sponsor a child” and “The Private Area”.
Administrative Activities...
The Meeting of the Board
This month there took place another meeting of “Joseph” Foundation board.
At this meeting there was discussed and analyzed The Trimestrial Activity Report. Both the financial analyses and the analyses of the activities revealed our success in adapting to the requests of the new laws in the field of child protection in Romania as well as the success of the new activities we included on our schedule.
 |
Because of these complex changes in the field of child protection, we hand in the application for the authorization of “JOSEPH” Foundation (the new legislation asks for this authorization to be renewed at the beginning of every year, it being given for only one year). We are certain “Joseph” Foundation will be re-authorized because the social services we offer are at European standards. The visit of the accreditation committee is to be paid next month.
There were also brought forward the proposals for the modification of the Statute of “Joseh” Foundation so that it would agree with the requirements of the law
|
in this field of activity (we will keep only the essence: helping the child in difficulty).
We are proud to announce you that we paid all our current debts (using independent funds and without affecting or being detrimental to any of our activities or programs).
Some changes were operated with regard to the Managing Board of “JOSEPH” Foundation. Thus, Mr.Costica CRETU was replaced by Mr.Cornel PARVU (this change was asked by the incompatibility between Mr.Cretu’s qualities of member in the board and, in the same time, accountant). We want to thank Mr. Cretu for all his efforts and dedication and wish success to Mr. Parvu.
Mrs. Magdalena POPA is our new censor and, from now on, her main attribution is to realize the financial audit for “JOSEPH” Foundation, so that, in the future we shall have no financial or fiscal fluctuations of dis-functionalities.
This moment, the managing board of “JOSEPH” Foundation is:
| Members of the MANAGING COMMITEE |
| Romeo VASILACHE |
President |
| Jonathan TAME |
Vice-President |
| Cornel PARVU |
Member |
| Mara VICHIRIUC |

... Spring Preparations
Even though in Romania we celebrate the coming of the spring on the 1st of March, this year spring was late. It came only at the beginning of April.
We took advantage of this situation and cleaned the House and its yard trying to compete with the nature itself:
... even though we did not succeed in exceed the nature, at least we succeeded in helping her!
As we expected, dear guests knocked at our guests: at the Easter party, “Joseph” House was full of laughter and child songs.
Pleasant memories and nostalgia invaded both adults and children (the majority of the children in foster families now, had been sheltered at “Joseph” House before being socially reintegrated).
We could not have done it without your help ...
We want to thank you for your kind answers and encouragement!
They sustain us and give us strength in our day-to-day work.
